Green teens planting seeds for the future

Green teens receive gardening tips from Learning Gardens staff

.Green Teens At Learning Garden

Summer was off to a great start. Green teens picked up valuable skills from their sessions at Learning Garden.  They are were taught how to compost, identify the weeds, plant vegetables, etc.  It was truly hard work, but very rewarding. We would like to give special thanks to Jackie and Rebecca.

The Brooklyn Green Teens participate in the Soap Box Derby Race on Saturday, April 28th @ Thomas Jefferson Recreation Center.
Be as creative as you want when decorating your cars.  Baseball cards, straws and other materials can be attached to the wheel spokes to give the car a sound of an engine. We encourage our GREEN TEENS to come up with a few catch phrases that would embody the mission of a Green Teen to decorate their cars. All groups should prepare a description on how they built their cars to display, so that our audience can see the work that was put into the design of these cars, eco-friendly car concepts are welcome.

Hello Community Board# 3,

NYC Parks is hosting a Citywide Anti-litter PSA Video Contest for teenagers. The objective of this contest is to encourage teenagers across the city to talk about anti-litter efforts and to become actively involved in keeping their green spaces clean. The selected borough winners will have their PSA’s shown at outdoor movies series to encourage patrons not to litter and to use appropriate receptacles. We hope that you can share this contest opportunity with your teen organizations.

We look forward to seeing your residents’ anti-litter videos. For more information, please visit our link at https://webmail.nyc.gov/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.nycgovparks.org/programs/recreation/teens/anti-litter-psa.
